So I thought I’d make a blog posting for random things that you will need to take on the trip (other than what’s on the packing list) and some other optional things and pieces of advice. If you have any advice, please feel free to write comments down below. Here are a few.

-Emailing home via Gmail- We will have a few opportunities to email home when in Kenya (although I can’t promise the frequency we can do this). Something I’ve found that helps a ton is communicating via Gmail over other providers (especially school accounts). Since we are so far away from the servers in America, I know that certain accounts have a hard time being accessed from other countries. However, since Google is so big they tend to have the best support for email services abroad. I (or AIM) are in anyway endorsing Google, but they have worked the best from my abroad experiences. So as a piece of advice, I would plan on making a massive group on a google account so that emailing home can be easy and you don’t get frustrated when you can’t access a different account.
