Hi!! My name is Rivers Rice. I just want to start off saying that God is great! I am truly excited to be taking this adventure with everyone and I’m most excited to grow in fellowship with each of you and see how God is going to work in each of our lives. I am from Houston, TX and I am attending school at Texas aTm. I am an accounting major in my last year (I promise I am not your stereo typical accountant:). I am a very laid back person and I pretty much love to do anything and everything. I love adventures, people, traveling, sports, and pretty much anything outdoors.
I grew up in a christian home, but I definitely have had my ups and downs in my life. The past couple of years God has really opend my eyes to see how great his love is for me. One of my favorite quotes is “Our heart’s longing and our first love should be for the one who gave everything for us!” I completely believe that..He sent his one and only son to die, so that we can spend eternity with him! God is truly an awesome God. I can’t wait to see the journey He will take us on during our two months in Kenya!

Rivers! You have by far the coolest name I have ever heard! I’m so glad you are joining us! I’m junior in college this year majoring in marketing. I’m currently taking accounting…and absolutely hate it! So hats off to you, because I need people like you. lol What do you like to do for fun? Do you play ultimate frisbee? Do you have Facebook?

I agree with Leah, your name is sweet! My entire family and extended family are aggies, whoop! I’m from Houston as well, but live in the Austin area…now there are two Texans 🙂 Can’t wait to meet you!

No worries Leah I know a lot of people who hate accounting as well. It is definitely not my passion, but my brain just works that way! And I pretty much love just hanging out with friends and doing anything outdoors. I have never played ultimate frisbee, but I have played frisbee golf before (I mean I think the only similarity is it involves a frisbee!)
